This spacious and stylish riad is in the centre of the medina – the ancient walled city of Essaouira. The city ramparts were built in the 18th century and the architecture shows Portuguese and French influence as well as the native Berber. Yet in only ten minutes walk through the bustling pedestrianised city you can get to sandy beaches and the fishing harbour with its amazing tiny seafood restaurants.
Winds of Discovery is a traditional riad building, beautifully updated by a London based artist and designer to create a combination of open spaces, cosy corners and sunlit terraces. All courses are run in it. There is plenty of airbnb or hotel accommodation within 5 minutes walk- including the well reviewed Riad Lyon Mogador next door.
